First Madden in over a decade, i'm cautiously optimistic

I wonder if they've had declining sales that are tied to declining ratings for NFL games.

I haven't played a Madden game since 2008, I am excited but we'll see.

I think it has more to do with the fact that Xbox One's development means they almost essentially have a PC version for free.

exactly this. Expect a rushed port with bad UI for PC. Like most ports nowadays. You will be lucky if they go as far as to rewright the tips and it doesnt tell you to press buttons on the controller.

Unfortunately the bar is basically just "be better than Madden 08" in regards to the PC platform.

Madden is being made in EA's Frostbite engine these days, which likely makes it much easier to port. Still, like you, I won't expect much.

Agreed. The graphics bar is pretty low coming from 2008 graphics so as long as it's got full roster updates and is compatible with my rumblepad, I am good

Well I'm definitely excited too! Finally!! Been debating getting a modern console only because of this one game so I'm glad I didn't. But it's a little scary. I hope they give it adequate support. Afraid the player count might be too low also, unless it's cross platform like super mega baseball 2. I'll take my chances. Definitely getting this.

I buy every other Madden title. I have Madden games as far back as the mid 90's. Around 2009 I started buying every other year because there aren't enough changes for the better between each year. My eagles won the superbowl though so I have to buy the next Madden.
