I predicted LT on '08 two weeks ago. I have a bet with my wife (cool, isn't she... knows football, knows Madden).

After thinking about it further, my answer is Mary from accounting. :|
 
My money's on EA being too cheap to put any player on the cover. They have that horrible "radio" announcer to avoid paying real announcers or even decent voice actors, so why not save a few bucks by having nothing but the Madden/NFL logos on the 08 cover?

Exclusive licenses FTL.

I'm just making an assumption here, but my guess is that they already bought the right to put whoever they want on the cover. Would it really cost them a dime to put a player on there vs. nothing (printing costs aside).
 
Yes, damn NFL had to make a deal with EA for $2 billion for licensing rights.. it sucks because it pushed 2K games out of the competition (they were the ones who made available sports game for $19.99 with much better graphics than EA). I hope someone will go after EA for monopolizing NFL player rights!
 
Over the weekend I was just thinking to myself that if LT has any sense he'll politely decline to be on the cover of Madden when they come calling.

The funny part is that I don't even believe in curses, but I certainly wouldn't be willing to put my career on the line to prove how right I am.

The persons who will end EA deal will be the players. But only when the money dries up and Madden sales decline that they are getting a nice check. But seeing as how people flock to put it year after year, with little to no major improvements. Its going to be a while.
