Madden 2002 for PS2 stinks.

I can't score a touchdown, I've gotten pretty good at field goals though. I guess the reason I probably stink at it is because I'm a soccer player, I'm not down with the American Football Lingo. Any advice?

I've been playing this game for a week or so and I have untold hours of madden under the belt on previous versions...

this edition may be somewhat more difficult than others, but it is fantastic.

Strange that you are hitting field goals, but not scoring touchdowns - most find the new kicking metter difficult to operate.

I couldn't score a touchdown my first three games on EAsy mode. I started a season on rookie mode and never lost a game.

It's about finding some plays that work for you and pass timing. It also seems to make a big difference if you get to set your feet before you throw a pass as opposed to throwing on the run.

I would say the PC version of 2002 is better the the 01. The graphics are better and the gameplay has also gotten better. But i would say the must challenging aspect of the game would be franchise mode. I love drafting and trading players so i can my teams superbowl contenders.

The PC version is built off of last year's game engine mostly. EA has said that the PC version of Madden has always been roughly a year behind, so many of the drawbacks for M2000 re-appear in M2001 for the PC. The AI is somewhat lacking from reviews and stuff that I've read. I've played a couple games and it seems pretty good for a PC game. I generally prefer console versions of sports games but M2001 is nice.

However, since NFL2K2 was released, I haven't thought much about Madden. Finally, I can control my players again. PS2 owners that pick up NFL2K2 (when it's released) will discover that football on the PS2 can have responsive control instead of swimming pool physics.

The PC version is really good IMO, much better than 2001.

One thing though that most people seem to agree upon: your Defensive Backs AI is weak. That's why the computer always scores on 70 yards passes... I suggest boosting only the "human pass defense" (or whatever it's called) to 7 (default is 5), and leave the rest like it is.

I can play pro and the games are usually very equal...

Changing the skill level... I'll try that... I always thought it was default Rookie.

Daayuuum! I bumped it up to Pro (PS2 version) and it's a HUGE difference. Too much really. I've been playing with the Vikings and on Rookie I was winnig every game, sometimes by 40 points or so. I decide to try the Raiders and just got smacked around my first game. So I went back to the Vikings since I know their plays better so far and played the first game in Franchise and barely beat the crappy Jaguars by 3 points and only then because they ran out of time before they could get off the tying field goal. I fumbled 3 freaking times in the first quarter deep in my own territory. Bennet couldn't do a thing anymore. I don't know about this.

LMAO!
Silly Madden 2002, not letting people do the impossible turn-180 degrees-on-a-dime arcade moves!

If you want true realism, go outside and play. If you want to play video games, pick up a game system.
