man this game fucking sucks when its not played on super-slow. Its like trying to play with the FF button on jesus.

Yup. Unfortunately, league commissioners can only adjust the basic rules (difficulty, trades, etc). We cannot adjust sliders or game speed 🙁 .
 
So, I'm still waiting for my copy to arrive. Can anybody tell me how my Seahawks did in Week 1? 🙂
 
Had a real nail-biter between Chicago and Pittsburgh! 35-28 Pitt. ric1287 put up a helluva fight, especially after a rough first half that (I think) had a critical interception. He was also robbed of a crucial tackle right before Willie Parker made it to paydirt after a breakaway.

This was actually my first online game, and it sucks not being able to talk to the other player ( 🙁 ) but it's SO much more fun than playing the cheating/hacking/bs CPU. Anywho, great game... tons of fun... let's do it again, ric (in or out of the league).

Yeah I was getting a bit angry after Cutler overthrew a wide open Hester 2x by about 20 yards and then Knox on another one (quit pulling that safety away 🙂 ). And the fact that with < 2 minutes left down by 14, ALL of my starters are pulled. Nothing like seeing your 5th string WR and 3rd string RB on the most important series of the game. Madden AI can be god damn retarded sometimes.

Also nice to find out that my best defensive player and my pro bowl kicker are both out for the season, great stuff.

So weird... I couldn't hear you at all. I just assumed that players couldn't chat when I never heard anyone on the other end. Oh well, now I'll know for next time!

As for your starters, I wondered where Hester went! Every play toward the end I went to assign double coverage, but he wasn't there.

Roethlisburger was out for most of the first half, which sucked. Seems like there is an inordinate number of injuries in this game. Parker surprised the hell out of me, though.

As for the safety, it's a bad habit of mine. I like playing safety because it gives me time to react to both the run and the pass (as opposed to trying to switch players and hoping the game doesn't switch me to some asshat sitting on the bench). It tends to leave guys open every now and then, but at the same time, it puts me in prime position to make some great user picks AND run-stops. I can't decide if the net effect is in my favor or not, but I hate playing close to the line... don't have time to react.

haha yeah, but if for some reason my 89 rated QB doesn't over throw my WR with 99 speed, that game would have been completely different 🙂
 
I got my butt kicked by the sorry Raiders, against the cpu no less. I swear the cpu cheats so bad on this difficulty level. There is no way the Raiders are that good. I know the Chiefs aren't even close to good, but the cpu controlled raiders were just murdering me. Garcia just picked me apart with every receiver on their roster. Anyways, I should have a online game next week.

Jbourne, is there an option for that auto qb/coach mode thing we can get turned off? Cassel keeps throwing picks if I don't immediately move him around. I am trying to stay in the pocket, but it seems like he just throws to whoever he wants regardless of coverage or other open options. I know I turned that off in my offline franchise.

I almost wish the rosters would update as cuts, trades and signings happen. The way the Chiefs' roster is changing the game's roster won't even be close by the time we are in week 4 of our franchise.

I'd recommend working with user catches. As the WR, you can get to the ball quicker than the CPU will get to the ball. From what I've read on forums, players whose main strategy is the deep ball are *experts* at user catches.

Against the CPU, I run a WC offense with just enough running to keep it honest (as if), but the first thing I noticed against a human opponent is that the running game is a much more viable option. Willie was having a great night!

You are absolutely correct. After my first human v human game last night, I'm tempted to never play offline again. It was such a more realistic experience. I like to mix my offense up, but against the CPU, running - especially to the outside on a pitch - is next to impossible.

And notice when you call audibles, the CPU adjusts perfectly every time? Yes, it absolutely cheats.

Hmm... I can't say I know what you're talking about. I haven't seen this happen with my team nor have I seen a setting like this in the franchise. I'll check, though.
 
Well, took my thumping last night from the Panthers. I realized I really am not very good at this game. haha

I spoke to Arik5405 and we'll get our game in sometime this week. I think I might be in trouble. I have not been able to have an effective red zone offense lately.
