I don't get it
Why are there roster updates for this season? I thought that Madden 09 was for the previous season's players. Now with a roster update, Matt Cassell is the NE QB (I use NE if the other team is being annoying by choosing the cowboys) and he sucks

edit: is there a way I can reverse this update and still play on live?
 
It has been years since sports games rosters were based on the previous season's roster. Maybe close to a decade. I everyone on live must play with the same roster that EA sets, and I believe it is whatever one is most recent, but as I really dislike the game play of the Madden series and haven't purchased the game since the SNES days I'm not entirely certain.

No everyone on live must use the newest roster, I'm afraid the pats and you are stuck with cassell.
 
While I think roster updates are important for Madden, I think updating injuries and such is stupid. If there's a trade, yes. If a team's star player is hurt, no. If people are now forced to go in and manually change New England's depth chart, that's stupid as hell. Just because he's hurt in real life doesn't mean don't want to play with him anymore.

Should, Silver basically includes everything except playing online. You SHOULD be able to update rosters fine based on MS rules, but EA might have something different set up.

EA doesn't have any stake in letting Gold members get roster updates first. I'm 99% sure that you'll have no problems, amdhunter.

I have NFL Head Coach 09, and had Madden 09 from gamefly... theonly way to update rosters is to join an online game, and to do that, you must have Xbox live gold.

What i did was bid on some 24 and 48 hour Xbox Live codes off ebay... i got like 3 or 4 codes for .99 i think.

i only wanted the roster that came out after final cuts and right before week 1, so i applied a code, got the roster, then my live just expired.

no roster updates for silver members.

Strange this is that the Giants still have Strahan (retired), Osi (IR), and Shockey (traded).

Dumb question: If you're mid season with the pats in a Franchise (online or offline), do you suddenly lose Brady? That would be utterly retarded if that's the case.
