Are the fees refundable if I am turned down? Because $60 for the first beating and $20 for each additional beating saves money vs. the $3/gal gas that I'd need to burn to do it myself.

If the $20 went towards buying the game it wouldn't be so bad (that way they'd have $20 even if you don't end up buying). But if its $20 + the final MSRP, then EA is going to hell.
