Madden 07 for PC

It works PERFECTLY with an Xbox 360 wired controller. It even shows the button names/colors of the passing options, plays, etc.... Whereas other controllers only show you numbers.

Where'd you get it early? And how are the graphics?

I'm not telling, and the grafx are DEF better than last year for PC. You can really tell that the field turf, and uniforms are much more detailed than before. The presentation still sucks, it dosn't compare to the nice replays, and stuff of the NFL 2k series. Also the menus have improved. They seem much more refined than in previous years. The soundtrack is good too, they threw a buncha older/remixed NFL related songs in there.

gamepads are definitely better for fighting games, driving (unless you have a steering wheel), and sports games.

As a general rule: FPS = mouse + keyboard
Everything else: gamepad

And honestly, devs are getting pretty good at workin an FPS with a controller... I'm coming around to the idea (albeit slowly).

I am using an AirFlo EX for the PC. I can't seem to get the buttons to match up right. Let me see if I can explain...

As you can see in the pic, the 4 buttons on the right hand side are as follows... 3 (left), 1 (bottom), 2 (right), 4 (top).

Well Madden expects all controllers to be in the form of 1 (left), 2 (bottom), 3 (right), 4 (top).

I can change the buttons (in Madden) for during GAMEPLAY, but when choosing plays, menus, etc I cant seem to get the buttons to work in order.

For example, when choosing a play, the 3 plays are 1, 2, 3. But on my controller, this is bottom, right, left. Once the play is chosen, then I can use the buttons as normal (bottom to hike, etc).

Hopefully that made sense and someone has a solution for me.

Note: The software for the gamepad allows you to map buttons to keyboard and mouse events, not to other buttons on the gamepad (that I can see).

Also, sorry for the hijack... Early impressions are "Yay another Madden", which means another incremental update. I dont see anything earth-shattering.

RTS = keyboard + mouse...even more complex RPGs...

Uumm...duh.. I would hope the Xbox 360 controller would work. It was spec'd to be compatible with the Xbox 360 usb controller before release day
