:mad; Road Runner blocking port 1241, port needed for fast track programs such as Kazaa

I have switched from ATTBI Broadband in Dalls to RR here in Austin.
And ever since, i have been having problems searching and finding files on fasktrack programs such as kazaa.
After more research, i found out that RR is blocking port 1241 in certain service areas (e.g. Austin, San Marcos).

This is how they found out, 1st they make sure that Kazaa is working, then they would listen for port scanners.
And behold, they found out that immediately after someone named " jam.rr.com "

scanning their 1241 port; Kazaa or any other fasktrack programs stops working.

I heard that a program called http tunnel will bypass the port disabling, but does anyone else know of any similar programs?

can you explain to me how a program such as http tunnel is in violation of the TOS?

btw** it is not "official" that RR is blocking port 1241, people have called and ask RR representatives whether or not they are disabling Kazaa or block port 1241, all the answers have been no and "i don't know" **

I'm trying to phase Kazaa out, but I'm still waiting on a few rare anime downloads to finish. It's getting to be a big pain in the rear. Still, I hope RR doesn't institute that port blocking crap up here in KC.:frown:

So if people aren't using Kazaa, what's the popular program nowdays?

Actually unless I miss my guess it's well within your isp's right to stop you from doing illegal activities. I'm suprised isp's aren't having people arrested for it. They can monitor whatever you send or receive. I wouldn't be suprised to see in the near future all isp's blocking or/and having people arrested for using file sharing services.
If it weren't for the fact that they would have to build jails for 100 million people in the US alone they probably would arrest everyone who uses a file sharing service.

Getting tired of all the crap going on. The corporations won't take a hint and the consumers won't budge either so it'll keep like this till it gets to be too much.
