Ten photos from the first episode: http://mashable.com/2013/04/06/mad-men-premier-photos/

Can't wait for this season! Each year it gets better IMHO so my expectations are high yet again. Lack of Peggy and Lane may be tough getting use to but we'll see what they did to replace them. My DVR better not break tomorrow night.

MM for me was mildly interesting at best- just enough to keep watching. Fiancee and I marathon'd and caught up just last year.

And sadly I have forgotten most of the plot and don't even have much interest.

Their hook is slowly revealing Don's mysterious past, but most of it is already satiated now (Don assumed the dead comrade's identity, started out as a lowly salesman, met Roger, etc).

What's the latest situation and why should I continue watching it? (I mean this sincerely with the remaining interest)

wtf, why is Peggy gone? It was abrupt and not addressed in the show, right?

pretty sure she took a job at another company.

Yea just read the season 5 summary. It looks like there isn't a particular drive that's left unsolved. Looks like season 6 will be new drama and just... continuing the MM.

Meh.

pretty sure she took a job at another company.

Its been stated in numerous places that she will be back this season. How often is still unknown.

As to the overall story, I agree that the mystery of Don Draper was an important part of the first few seasons and that once we learned his backstory the show sort of drifted.

The move to open the new company was interesting. Since then, meh.

I can't see any other story line outside of Don getting older and how he handles not being the young up and coming guy. And that's pretty boring imo.

I don't see how the show can really go on much longer unless something new and compelling is added.

And the show never actually addressed why Don cheated on Betty numerous times so blatantly without hesitation.

People like him because he's a good looking guy who works hard and is compassionate. Doesn't change the fact that he's a cheating man-whore.

And how on earth did Pete Campell rise so fast to threaten Roger as the direct rivalry? It was just a year ago when he was a little sissy that cried when got told off by Don & Roger. Roger is like his boss' boss.

Unless I'm missing something big, it's a lazy implausibility by the writers just to make it convenient for them.

and river monsters season premiere tomorrow too at the same time! thankfully i have dual tuner dvr!

Good call sir! You must then recognize the bloke in my avatar. Vikings is also on tomorrow night as well.

While on the subject of AMC goodness, anyone know if there will be another season of Hell on Wheels?

Oh I don't even know the show. :awe:

Just patiently waiting for Breaking Bad...

You should check it out. While not as popular as some of the other AMC shows, I thoroughly enjoy it and find myself anticipating the next ep as much as Walking Dead or BB. Well maybe not BB but you get the idea.

Zeze, meet Cullen Bohannan, the badass with a tragic past yet manages to let his goodness come through at the right times in between killing assholes.

And now back to Mad Men, did not mean to derail.

Underwhelming premiere was underwhelming, but I kind of expected that since most MM seasons start off slow, just wish they focused more on the work. Megan was as close to being naked as you can get for an AMC show, so that was nice. The rest of it just didn't hold my interest. Betty obsessing over Sally's friend, Peggy doing her thing, Roger's mom dying, the doorman collapsing... it was all a big fat "meh" to me. The Sheraton meeting was alright though, and does anyone else think the new woman at SCDP looks like a man-ish Peggy??

I thought it was kind of a meh episode too. I see Don is back to his cheating ways too.
