I hope everyone in the game has an Aussie accent or it won't feel right.

I am eagerly awaiting the release of this new Mad Max game.
(I'm getting the PC-DVD version from Amazon.com).

I loved all 3 of the original Mad Max movies,
so it will be interesting to see what they come up with in this new game.

I can't believe nobodys drawn a parallel to Borderlands. I would say it looks like BL with LoU mixed. Good combo.

I think Rage is more apt that Borderlands. The cell-shading and general comic atmosphere with weird critters puts Borderlands at a comfortable distance, imo.

That being said, anything that evokes Borderlands is a win in my book.

Lol. It's not going to ruin the game for me, but am I bit disappointed....

\it's funny that the same fate fell to the first Mad Max film with its 1980 release....

Apparently, Gibson's accent was so terribly thick that no one could understand him, so he had to be dubbed.

It isn't that unusual, actually. You still see it in certain national cinema. Classically, southern Italian films were/are often dubbed for Northern Italian audiences because the dialect is just too thick.

like Shwarzeneggar in Hercules Goes Bananas. (granted, he isn't a native English speaker, anyway. But it's funny to see the dubbing now)

The first was really slow. The second was the pinnacle of post-apocalyptica. The third was still good, but more in that cheesey way.

The new film is supposed to be centered around the oil crisis and subsequent collapse of society that happens and gives us the wonderful world of the second film.

Sadly, it has been in development hell for like 25 years and is still having problems. At least, it has Tom Hardy and a release date.

This game will probably take place after this new movie, in the newly collapsed society.

I liked the second more as well.

of all the film remakes, this could be a rather interesting series to redo, not necessarily sticking to the originals but a new exploration of the general humanity plot lines.

maybe even with a waterworld side load tie in :D

bear in mind that the DVD release of Mad Max has multiple language support including the original Aussie.
