oh gosh, a time machine written in java

...during a time (1980s) when Java programming didn't exist. I guess that's not really a paradox because it *is* a time machine that hacks time.

Why is the Viking woman different from the one in the trailer? Something just looks...wrong.

It wasn't exactly good, in fact it was horrible.. Still watched all the way through.

Story 1/5
Acting 0/5
Special effects 3.5/5
Music 4/5
How much sense it made -999/5

All in all a solid 2/5.

All in all a solid 2/5.

  • Story was imaginative.
  • Acting was sufficient...and supposed to be bad (like the movies they're spoofing)
  • Now come on! The special effects were great. Did you see where his partner got split in two?
  • Music was perfect in every way.
  • The story wasn't supposed to make sense. Computers were just "magic" to Hollywood at the time (example: Wierd Science)

And "raptors" weren't culturally known and popularized until Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park (1990) was made into a film (1993)

there's a theory is that its a nod to Back to the Future and the change of actress for Jennifer between the first and second/third films

https://youtu.be/n4QLKKqjk7A

but it could just be for the same reasons that Back to Future changed actresses, and that they needed to do new scenes and couldn't get the same girl so they re-shot the old scenes as well

Movie sucked because Viagra didn't exist in the '80s. [Edit: Dammit! Beat'd]

J/K

I do wish they would have used the guy in a costume for the arcade machine and at least tried to simulate stop-motion for the dinos.

I really liked how they used vcr tape artifacts and incorporated them. The best was at the beginning where the image cuts to noise and then you see him in orbit crashing into a satellite. And they continued to incorporate artifacts like that through the whole film.

Serious question though, how do you reproduce that VCR tracking effect digitally? Do you pretty much have to draw it by hand? Run it through a real VCR?

Triceracop was the best. Even though he does things by the book, you really get the feeling that he cares about Kung Fury.

Plus he shoots people in the balls.
