what the hell is wrong with the rc5 client. i ran an update and started cracking again, so i went to bed. i the morning it hadn't completed one WU! before i went to work i restarted it, looked like it was cracking. when i got home only one WU done. WTF? i restart my computer and it has completed about 70 WU in the last 2 hour? so, much for the load and forget it theory!! :|

any ideas?

It sounds like you are running OGR.
Check to make sure that your .INI file contains the following:

[misc]
project-priority=RC5,OGR=0,DES=0,CSC=0

OGR units take a lot longer to process.

ya you encountered what I did when I first started. I was cracking huge Work Units that were like 8 or 9 times the size of a normal WU and it took like 19-22 hours to crack the first one. Give it a few days, also if you turn off your comp without starting the client first (even if it crashes) you lose all data you worked on ... Ive lost plenty blocks like that.

Once you realize its working it will be tons of fun

Like right now im working on a huge WU

Ray,

You may be right. It may have been running OGR before you restarted it and started on RC5 after the restart...

Check the file as Ray has instructed.....🙂 I think that will fix the problem (Not suggesting that OGR is a problem 😉)...

this is from the config file
9) Load-work precedence ==> RC5,DES=0,CSC=0,OGR=0

when is first started rc5 it ran great, but after the first update it slowed down a lot.

It may have also been cracking usually large WUs

i don't think it is the size of the WU's. i restart my computer about 2 and a half hours ago and it is up to 132 WU in that time. unless it started on a different WU?

Also remember to enable checkpoint files-you can call them anything you want e.g. "cp"
This will keep you from losing an entire wu if the machine powers down with the client running.
