Mad at my p^s Archos Jukebox 20 Gig Multimedia Player

Does anyone have the Archos Multimedia Jukebox 20gig? This Mp3 player says that it plays mp3 (of course), video, pictures, and acts like a hard drive. However, to date - I am not able to convert any video (DVD or other) to MP4 that reads on it. I have tried everything. Should I dump it or does someone have a some good tip for me? Thanks.

I had that exact mp3 player and used the software included to rip dvds and convert file sto the appropriate formate (.avi). The player was very good to me until the hdd up and died after a few years.

That Archos CD had nothing - just USB drivers for the HD. I would never buy another Archos player (1st because it's expensive, 2nd because they give you absolutely zero support or software). I may be wrong, but I am so disappointed. If they provided their own DVD ripper software, I couldn't locate it on the CD that it came with.

can't you just download some Divx AVI file and drag and drop it into it?
I think that way it will play as long as the codes are compatible.
