Hi, I'm running Flash MX. I'm having a problem, and I'm stupid so maybe somebody here could help.
I have made a text box scroller, I know MX has the "components" built in that can do this automatically. But, I wanted more control, so any ways. I found one on the web, downloaded it and changed it around a lil' until I got it to how I wanted it. Thinking I could just "duplicate" it and change the text (for other text boxes in the same movie) But, when I duplicate all the objects, and change the text layer it updates on the main layer. So, basically I can only have one instance of it in a single FLA file. I was *guessing* it has to do with how Macromedia has Flash "link" objects, but I can't find much information. I read in the manual a little bit, and I checked flashplanet.com but I can't figure out an easy way to remedy this. I could re-create all the objects as new objects, but there is a bunch of them, and some action scripting involved and it would be hassle, seeing how I'm trying to get about 15 instances of this in my project.
