Edit - if you'd read the whole article and not just the first paragraph, you ADHD-stricken children of ten-second soundbites and technopop, you might understand more. Now go take your Ritalin and click the link again.

I think he's a little pissed off cause Apple won't replace the Powerbook dispaly he shattered under warranty.

I read the whole thing. He doesn't like Apples music format, he thinks Apples servers are to expensive, Apples are slow, Apples OS is slow, Apple should have came out with iTunes for PC right away. So what, why should I care what John Manzione's opinion is about Apple. Just another anti-Apple rant. Big deal.

What crawled up your ass and died?

Here, let's take all a look at his columns, in chronological order:

The Mac Web is fortunate to have a site like the hardworking, constantly updated PowerBookCentral.

Fleetwood Mac has the right idea about digital music
Want a peek into Apple?s forthcoming Music Service? Point your browser at fleetwoodmac.com and glimpse the future.

AppleLinks is a Mac publication for the thinking Mac user.
?John, John, and Charles are three of the best writers on the Mac Web, and one of my favorite sites to visit daily?

MacTavolo joins the Mac Community
The newest Desktop Picture and Screenshot Web site launches today.

On Living digital
?Living online with a Mac can be seen as being isolated, but to me it?s simply living digitally.?

Is Macworld Expo?s new name the end of the road?
?Don?t let the name fool you, this summer?s expo in New York is still very much the Macworld you know and love (or hate)?

The whole Enchilada. The world of Macintosh today
I haven't been this excited about being a Mac user since burning my first DVD with iDVD

Larry O'Connor talks to MacNET about the iBox
"The Xserve is too expensive for many users and the iBox, while not as feature rich, is still perfect for both rack mount server installations and home DVR setups. "

Jobs to become Record Mogul, Rock and Roll!
?Ever the wunderkind, Steve Jobs takes Apple on a ?Magical Mystery Tour??again?

When was the last time you screamed at your computer?
...I became a full time OS X user when 10.1 was released. In fact, when Adobe released GoLive 6 it eliminated any need on my part to even use Classic. It?s been more than a year since I used OS 9 in any fashion and I forgot about all the times I nearly put my fist through my CRT display.

PowerBook 17 screen cracks. How is this my fault?
Apple?s new 17? PowerBook is a great machine, but what happens when an obvious defect causes you grief is another matter altogether.

AppleCare: Price Gouging or just a scam? You decide.
?Have you purchased AppleCare for your Mac, or planning to? If so, perhaps you need to read this column before you do?

When in Trouble or in Doubt, Run in Circles, Scream and Shout.
Andrew Wilkinson of MacTeens writes about the horrible destruction of the MacTeens web site.

Apple?s music service is a huge risk, is it worth it?
?People who own Apple Stock are very nervous right now. The new music service coming next week is a big risk, and could very well tank an already shaky stock.?

Apple says ?NO? to shattered PowerBook screen ? An update
?I am positive that my (and MacNET Media?s) relationship with Apple will suffer for this column, and Monday?s column.

Apple leaks confidential information to discredit customer
?This is truly a sad day for Apple Computer..."

Apple's Press Event; the Good, the great, and the big yawn.
...If you believe Steve Jobs, Apple is about to remake the record business like he did personal computing.

Considering the Mac Web
...I?ll give you fair warning; if your world revolves around everything Apple, if any criticism of Apple causes you spasms or invokes web-rage, then it?s best you passed this column up lest your entire day is ruined by having your ?reality distortion field? disrupted, if only briefly.

The day the record store died
Think you know what Apple's next new digital device is going to be? Well, a depressing conversation over the weekend with a record store owner was a real eye-opener, in more ways than one.

We were really hoping we wouldn?t have to write about this again, but? when the PowerBook was returned to us this morning, there was an unexpected surprise.
It?s not bad enough that someone at Apple leaked information that was in my personal customer files, but I would suppose that the same person, or someone else in Cupertino, decided to take a hammer to the PowerBook itself.

Do not read this column!
You?ve been warned. If you found yourself here this morning, you might want to pass up today?s column.

Did you notice when he stopped writing positive columns and started only writing ngative stuff about Apple? Hint: I bolded it for you.

It may be an opinion, but you have to at least admit that it was a fairly logical and well laid out opinion. It's only a matter of time before Apple bleeds itself dry. How can you simply compete with the competition when you are astronomically more expensive, slower, less compatible, and put out sub par products?

Apple's coffers aren't bottomless, and they have no where near the pull that the big players(Dell, MS, HP, ect) in the PC market have.

Bwahahahahaha - it's a good article. I can't wait to rub it in the face of my Mac friends 😀

I agree, it was fairly logical and well laid out. But these types of things always seem to come out whenever Apple has any kind of success. Apple has made it this far, I'm sure there are many intelligent people in that company that are thinking of ways to make the company more competitive. There is obviously a market for their product or else they would already be out of business. Somebody must be buying them, even if it is the mindless drones that only like the way it looks.

Just another anti-Apple rant? Did you not notice the source of that article? Just because he's speaking the truth as he sees it doesn't mean he's anti-Apple.

Haven't heard the AAC media files or used Apple customer service, but I have to say he is right on about OS X and machine speed. All you ever hear from the Mac users is how advanced OS X...but its ridiculously slow. I recently installed Jaguar on a 500mhz iMac with 192mb of RAM, and even with Safari I'd rather surf on the spare P100 64mb box I have at home any day. The iMac is still worth maybe around $350 - while I probably couldn't give away the PC if I tried. Add the fact that OS 9 is the most unstable OS I've ever touched and as far as I'm concerned that Mac is a paperweight.

192MB doesn't cut it with OSX.

You'd want at least 256...512 is better. OSX can always use more RAM. Because of this, I still wonder why some of Apple's default configs only come with 128MB :disgust:

wow. either guy's really pissed or apple does suck.

saying goes, "if apples were meant for real use, it'd be called a PC"

/me starts running.
