Machine_Check_Exception error?

Hi,

I've been having this problem ever since I upgraded my computer a couple of months ago. However, it's recently getting pretty annoying so I am going to try and solve this problem. The issue is that only during playing games, my computer will give me a BosD with the following error message:

Machine_Check_Exception

STOP: 0X0000009C (0X00000004, 0X80545FF0, 0XB2000000, 0X00070F0F)

Also, after I reboot the system and check the Event Viewer I will get an Eventsystem error that states:

The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during its internal processing. HRESULT was 8007041F from line 44 of d:\qxp_slp\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp. Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services to report this error.

Another weird thing is that when I get the Blue Screen, all I hear in the background is this electronic buzz sound.

Any help is appreciated. 🙂

Specs:

Asus A8N SLI
AMD Athlon64 3200+ 939
Kingston Valueram 1GB (2x512MB Dual Channel) PC3200
XFX GeForce 6600GT PCIx
Soundblaster Audigy 2ZS Platinum PCI
Adaptec 2940UW SCSI PCI
Seagate 200GB UATA HDD

Oh, and also nothing is overclocked.

When I got an MCE stop, it was a faulty PCI card. What is hooked up to your SCSI card? Try running without some components?

Thanks for your reply. I will try that tonight when I get home from work. Would SCSI cards cause problems during gaming though? The funny thing is that I've been leaving my computer on for weeks in windows and nothing ever happens. This is with surfing the net, burning CDs/DVDs and checking email. However, the instant I try to play a game, I get the random blue screens but the error code is always the same.

what games? I had the same exact problem when I started playing americas army the new version. I also had just installed a tv tuner/video capture card.

ok, The Stop 9C is a *hardware* error. It cannot be caused by a software error or faulty driver.

In the abscence of any other bugchecks (which may specifically indicate some other component, or random ones that may indicate memory) there is a good chance this is the CPU. The second possibility would be bus (motherboard).

Start RMAing stuff.

Well, I removed my SCSI card last night and so far it hasn't crashed yet. I also tried running this CPU stability test for 10 hours straight and it found no errors. Hopefully it's the SCSI card.
