Hi everyone, this is my first time posting here
i just brought the following 2 weeks ago, P4 3.0E, 512x2 DDR 400, Asus P4S800, Grandmars 6800LE, 80G seagate SATA, and a 380W power supply.

it was working properly until today i moved my desktop from table to floor, the machine will turn on but no display, i dont know which part is wrong! first, i checked all CPU, display and power supply fan are on(i assume if fan is on then they are ok right?) next i tried both AGP and on board display card, switch memory to a different slot, use another power supply, still nothing happen.
the other weird thing is i can press the power button infront to turn on, but if i hold it for few second it wont turn off, i have to use the power supply on/off switch at the back. Also i didnt hear any beep sound after the computer is on. (usually happen when you see the bios screen)

*i did overclock the CPU about 10%, but it was working fine last week. and last time i did shut down the computer properly (so didnt crash or sudden turn off)

so anyone know which part is going wrong? CPU or Motherboard?

I'm having a similar problem. I tried adding more cooling to my vid card, but I notice I'm not getting the boot beep either, so it must be a hardware issue. My computer will freeze when playing BF2 & when I restart the monitor won't work. It just sits in standby and I have to try various methods to get it fired up after this happens, and it usually takes hours. I think it may be the monitor, but I am also considering replacing my PSU as it may not devlier the required power or have a problem with shorting out.

AMD 3500+
Patriot XBL 1gb
MSi Neo4 Diamond SLi
Gigabyte 6600gt
PCP&C 410w Silencer

Usualy if you turn it on with the power switch but the power switch won't turn it off, it means the CPU isn't fully seated. I would remove and reseat the CPU, make sure to clean off the old thermal paste and apply a fresh coat. Have you tried booting with the bare minimums? Just the CPU/heatsink and fan, a single stick of ram, and the onboard video? Also try booting without the ram and see if you get any beeps.

I just had a friend come over to my house last week with the same problem...everything turning on except no video to the screen...did you happen to look to make sure your video card is seated correctly in the AGP slot...if you can see any gold from the Video card teeth, then its not seated properly...It could've loosened when you moved the tower....that is exactly what happened to my friends computer...we just reseated the vid card and all was well.
