My son built a machine - msi - k7n2 delta / amd 2800 / wd 120 gig / lite-on dvd+/- / ati9600 pro

machine boots up and runs fine BUT if you knock against the case (even gently) it reboots -

any ideas where to begin troubleshoot welcome

thanx much

I'd be checking for a loose power cable/wire.

If that's not it, open the case and see what moves when you tap the case.

its gotta be a loose/bad cable ... i would guess it would a harddrive cable either that or the power cable in the back of the comp (the one beside the power switch) ... not much else would cause a reboot

i suggest you shake the hell outta it and see if something falls off ... i take no responsibility for broken or damaged hardware lol

the motherboard may be grounding out against the metal of the case. make sure he used the copper risers that came with the motherboard and mounted them properly between the motherboard and the case or else he could have this issue.
