Mach L computer made the cover of January Maximum PC mag

Nitemare

Lifer
Saw this thread the other day and I thought that that l looked familiar. I've seen this website posted time after time on here, so the consensus was that it is a scam.

Apparently, there was a reference machine that they tested on, but apparently L did not enclose PuRAM.

The review was basically that it was a pretty decent performance wise, but severely overpriced and the inside was a rat's nest of cables. Looks like it has a water cooling device and radiator on the CPU, cooling it to -21 degrees.

At least they weren't claiming to have working MRam
I have no idea what that is. PuRAM, I don't know what it is either, but man...LMAO. PuRAM. It just sounds funny.

I have no idea what that is. PuRAM, though...LMAO.

Magnetic Ram, gonna make today's ram seem like slugs when it gets finalized

Flash memory isn't that much faster than dynamic storage... if at all. Now, if they had a battery-powered (lead-acid, say) SDRAM drive, that would be crazy fast.

That's not even the best part. Magnetic RAM will be non volatile, which means shutting your computer down completely will allow you to boot right back up because the RAm contents are preserved.

You mean like a Platypus QuikDrive?

not real? doh! i guess i just have to buy gigs of ram and use it as a harddrive. although everytime i reboot Id have to load winXP again. lol!

i say NiMH, so it can be charged (without worrying about over charging) everytime computer is on.

Funny, I just saw this here for the first time today and then a message asking for interns from this company was posted to my school's newsgroup.

I think they are a "real" company. As for some of their claims and boasts, they are probably fraudulent. I think there products look cool, their specs are awesome, but the product sells for double what I could build myself

$3499.99, $3957.99, $4595.99, $5799.99, $7999.99
Are the prices they have for desktop models

What I could build:
Dual Opteron Motherboard MS-9130 $204
2 1.8Ghz Retail Opterons $920
Sparkle 550 watt Dual Opteron PowerSupply $122
Lian Li -all aluminum case $110
9800XT Radeon vid card $412
Audigy 2 ZS Sound card $86
Lite-on 8x DVD Burner $102
Floppy $10
2 Western Digital 74GB Raptor's set up in Raid 0 - $450
3 Maxtor 250 GB 7200 RPM Hard drives $666 <---Teh Evil
4 Sticks of Micron 1Ghz $880
Linux $Free
**************
Summary
1.8 x 2 Opteron 64
Best video card
Best sound card
Best DVD Burner
~1 Terabyte in storage
4 GB of memory

Comes in at a shade above their Advanced Model at < $4G
And I assure you this setup would probably kill their 8 Grand Extreme edition
