Mach 3 Power Nitro gave up the ghost. Anything better?

My Mach 3 Turbo Nitro razor split apart today and is a goner.

I've had this thing since 2004 or 2005.

Apparently they don't make them anymore but I've been very satisfied with it in the years I owned it.

Is there anything else that's just night and day better now days than my old razor?

I did try one of those 5 blade Fusion razors but it irritated my face much more than the Mach 3 blades do.

I feel half tempted to get a electric razor but whenever I've owned them in the past I never feel like I get as close and clean of a shave as I do with the Mach 3 blades.

I don't know how anyone can use those 3 blade beaters. I bought some Mach 3's and what shit compared to my Fusion

I got a Fusion for free from some slickdeals thing at the time but it really bugged my skin. Felt like razor burn after using it.

I was looking around on Amazon and see they have a new version of it though called "Proglide" that sounds like it's supposed to be easier on the skin.

Maybe I'll give that a shot...

Anyone have the Proglide? Is it any good?

Got one for Christmas but haven't used it yet because I don't feel like shaving till I go back to school.

I like 3 bladed better than the ones with more blades. The 4 or 5 bladed razors get clogged up too easily for me.

Are you shaving your legs with it?

the fusion/quattro got clogged more easily, but the new Gillette Fusion ProGlide that everyone kept raving about on Slickdeals is pretty freaking good.

Gillette introduced it like it was revolutionary, and quite honestly it's damn good. I did heads up tests against the old Fusion, the newer Schick 5, etc etc, and this ProGlide was amazing. Easy like the old Mach 3 series.

That's promising.

I saw a SD thread that Walmart was clearing out some gift set of this razor for $4. B&M only though. I'll look around this weekend.

I saw some Philips 3D head electric shaver that everyone swears is the best razor in the world on sale with some rebate at Costco for something like $140ish...

I didn't care much for the Fusion, but the Fusion ProGlide is freaking amazing.
And unless you really like the battery powered option, get the manual handle. It's got a much better weight and feel to it since it's not as hallowed out for the battery.
I originally got the powered one thinking I'd see how it is but to me it's worthless. While on vacation I bought the non-powered Fusion ProGlide and like that handle so much more.

This is my exact experience. I haven't tried the latest proglide thing, but just judging from the blade costs, I'm better sticking to Mach 3, as it works really well for me.

Oh yeah, something to consider : Get your Mach 3 blades online, it's far cheaper than even wal-mart. You can get like 40 packs for ~$50ish, much better than paying $10+ for 4 freaking pieces (I change blades about 5x a month).
