Macbook Heat

The bottom of my new 13.3" macbook is ridiculously hot. I read that they get hot and also that the fan has 'mooing' noises from turning on and off, but I never hear any noise at all. I'm afraid the fan is not working properly (or at all). How can I check if everything is in working order? Thanks.

One thing that people need to understand: If your heatsink is hot / warm (Desktop), or the air from your laptop vents is hot, then your cooler IS working properly. You only have a problem when the heatsink is cool to touch or cool air comes from the vents.

well at boot up my laptops has cool air coming out then after it gets hot allover like yours. I opened up my laptop to find very little AS5 on my CPU so i instantly applied more and now its running much cooler.

mac books are notorious for overheating. Some of them had plastic blocking the airvents, and some had way too much thermal paste applied to the heat sinks. If you're brave, open it up yourself have a look. If you're not, get it to a computer repair shop and ask them about their professional opinion. Make sure it's a reputable store or they'll end up telling you you've got a broken hard drive rofl... anything for some business =p. You could even try getting one of those laptop cooling pads, basically a little plastic pad with fans inside that your laptop sits ontop of. It should help you out a bit, and according to the news... save your future children. xD
