A close friend of mine broke their hinge in a freak accident. The hinge is cracked to the point where a wire is sticking out. No dents or damage to the base or lcd because it broke by her literally adjusting the screen back.
Their warranty period is over and said it be almost as much as a refurb air. I was thinking about replacing the hinges myself but needed to know a few things. Are they connected to the lcd screen panel or bottom piece as once piece or are they seperated?
If the hinges are not connected I could have an identical hinge made that would cost less than the 800 dollars that was quoted.
