well.. isn't that the whole point of the macbook air? is to have a super light/thin "full sized" laptop? It's like saying why get the macbook air now, the macbook is cheaper.

The old Air has so many limitations and poor performance problems (parallel ATA, X3100 graphics, etc.) - the Macbench scores for the new Air vs. the old are almost 50% faster.
