Mac problem

when trying to launch any installer patch on my performa Mac OS 9.1, it keeps displaying the message that CarbonLib cannot be found.
what is the matter??

You aren't downloading Mac OS X patches are you?

Mac OS X stuff will not work on OS 9.

IIRC there is a software update tool on Mac OS 9.

After a lot of sweat, i managed to upgrade my OS, and install the latest version 1.6 of CrbonLib.
i could install the V.6 standard edition of 4th Dimension.
now i managed to open the database.
but when selecting a certain file it displays the following message: " An attempt has been made to read or write beyond the end of a file, the database cannot be used"

although i checked the structure of that file, all is OK

Any ideas????????
