My god I love Apple and Fedex 🙂

Dual 3.0 Quad Processors
9GB RAM
1x250GB -System Drive
3x1TB - Raid Array

30" Apple Cinema Display - just wow.

I feel like a 9 year old at Christmas right now 🙂

Welcome to the club! Now go out and buy some Mac games (like ET: QW and CoD 4 when it comes out) to play on that beast and support Mac gaming 😛

This is how the setup is now.... it will be different after I get the iMac files moved over. I sold it. I'll also move the drobo and hide it. The monitor and drive/usb/card dock along with the keyboard/mouse is all that will be on the desktop.

MESSY pic.

What do you do that requires a mac pro, out of curiosity? any reason you got that over a MBP?

Also do you game?

nice rig. what kind of mice are you using (logitech?)?

That right there is a Logitech MX Revolution, you can tell by the way it lies in wait for its prey.

Sweet Mac Pro man, wish I could afford one, though I might start joining the masses that are clamoring for an xMac.

Never heard of an xMac Stu.... If I had a desk I'd be drooling for a Mac Pro, but for now my Blackbook is plenty good for me.

I work from home. I keep my work machine seperate by running a VM. The iMac handled the duties ok, but I wanted to do away with my media server by getting all the storage throughout the house in ONE central location.

Probably overkill, but you only live once.

Thanks

The xMac is a mythical device. It is not quite a Mac Pro, so it maybe only has 1 optical drive, and 1 processor, 4 RAM slots instead of 8, 2 PCIe x16 slots instead of 4, preferably with 4 hard drive bays, but probably artificially limited to 2.

It is an Apple desktop that is about the same performance level as the iMac, maybe a little more (use of Core 2 Quads) but not quite as good as the Mac Pro. It would be headless, like the Mini and the Pro, and would be priced to fit its specs and place in the lineup.

Rockin' setup  😀

Thanks 🙂 No complaints thus far except I think that Apple should include "Bluetoof" and Airport by default for what we pay for these.

I agree. Bluetooth should definitely be included in all of their system. But I guess they figure that anyone who's willing to pay that much for a system will probably be willing to shell out a few bucks more for bluetooth and airport.

i *think* the biggest the make is 4GB sticks.

Mine has 4x2GB and 2X512mb and still has 2 slots open.
