Mac OS X vulnerability

Interesting. I'll have to look for that setting on the woman's puter. Although it's more likely that I'll fall victim to it. 😛
 
The setting doesn't mitigate the underlying vulnerability, but it does make the user have to click on something to hose themselves.
 
When I first got my powerbook I was using safari and clicked on a link to a dashboard widget (zipped up). It asked me something about whether I trusted the zip file (in no way implying that it was going to do anything other than download it) so I said yes and a few seconds later, it was installed and running on my dashboard. That seemed like a really stupid idea to me. It was almost like apple was flaunting it's pretty decent security history by playing with fire and it's one of the reasons why I rarely ever use Safari.

A work around is better than nothing...
