MAC OS x 10.1 fo free!!!!

Just got back from my compUSA trying to get my 120 gigger for $99. I did pick up the SOny Vaio wireless card for 50 tho. As we were walking out my roomate saw a lot of Mac OS x.10.1 under the counter and my roomate asked the lady what it was for

Lady : "Uhhh its some kind of Mac Upgrade cd"
Roomate: "how much is it? (he is a mac user)
lady: "Its free..."
me and roomate" can i have one?"

She gives each one of us one and my roomate gets her to give him another one

This waS at the CompUSA on Route 46 in NJ


I wanted the hard drive tho..Im calling the regional manager. I want some answers

those CDs have been free since the first day they came out, but it requires the OSX (version 10.0.4) to be installed on any mac, however, there is..um..um...to ..um um..it to install it

As much as I hate MACS, here's a tip to help you guys out. You do not need OS X to upgrade to 10.1. You can use the FREE upgrade CD and install it in full. In other words, you can start with an empty system and just install OS 10.1 in full. So go grab your upgrade cd and get a free OS.

I'd think a senior member would know better than to advocate cracking a commercial product on these boards. Apple screwed up by making it easy to turn an upgrade CD into a full install but this is not the correct place to be posting information on how to illegally take advantage of it.

Sorry about that..It is the one in Totowa...I really wanted the 120 gig but the manager was being a dick
