mac os 9

You can be banned for asking for illegal downloads. We don't support that kind of tech talk here. And here's a question to ponder next time you have a question similar:

"If I spent hard hours developing a program, would I want people to download it illegally and not give me credit or compensation when I deserve it?"

Yes it was a joke. Sorry if it wasn't obvious. Like the others posted, you can buy OS 9 on ebay and on other websites.

Anyway if you have a really old Mac and want to know if it is OS 7.1 or 7.5 compatible, you can check this up on:

Because apple will hardly be making any money off of sales anymore so he wondered if they were still bothering to sell it. That's why he put illegal in quotes.

but then you have to ask why people are being sued by the RIAA over songs noone's ever heard of. Old, dead songs and their band is probally long dead as well. It's still under their copyright laws, even if they don't sell it anymore or if noone buys it anymore. That's not a valid excuse "Oh, you weren't making money off it anyways, so it should be free to illegally download"

Yes, and obviously the riaa cares about illegal downloads; he was asking if apple cares as well, kinda like macos7 was pointed out. He could have phrased it better, but I don't think he did anything bannable or even immoral and I don't think he needed a flaming for it.
