I am checking out a G5 POWER PC 2.0 Imac but wanted a intel based unit,is there a big performance difference or ?

Also I assume the power pc unit will not run vista ?

Thanks.

There's a big difference in performance I don't recall the actual numbers but also keep in mind.

Snow Leopard will not be compiled for PPC. You are better off with a Intel based machine now.

It will not run Vista.

I just picked up a Dual 2.0GHz G5 Power Mac for $400 (hooray for Craigslist!), dropped in some drives, installed OSX Leopard Server and now I've got a great family/file server. I can't say I'd recommend a G5 iMac though, as it's pretty much stuck at what it is. Not to mention, if you're looking to run Win32 you're out of luck. However, if you're looking for a server or a great workstation -- right now, the prices for G5 Power Macs cannot be beat.
