I'm purchasing what is now the previous generation Mac Mini. It come with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and 2 GB RAM. I'd like to upgrade the RAM and would like to know if Snow Leopard will recognize 8 GB of RAM or am I stuck with a 4 GB max upgrade potential?

Thanks

This my first post from my new Mac Mini. :) I picked up a previous generation Mini as well as an Apple Wireless Keyboard and Mouse. I wish I hadn't have waited so long to switch to a Mac! This thing friggin rocks!

I order a 2x4GB set of memory for it from the Egg. :)

My next step will now be to sell my Dell laptop and aquire a Macbook Pro 13".

May want to consider replaceing the HD to a 500GB or 750GB 7200RPM and ditch the 160GB 5400 RPM.

If you're super-nuts go SSD boot and Thunderbolt RAID array. But that's pretty pricey.

Sure, why not add $1200 worth of disks to a $500 computer to address a need that probably doesn't exist? o_O

I *did* preface it with "if you're super nuts..."

I've got an original mac pro upgraded to 2xquad core cpu's and I'm considering replacing it with a mini server simply due to the electrical savings.

It is a moot point for the OP, he got a last gen Mini, no Thunderbolt.
