hey
i just got a mac IIci from a friend and i was just gonna play around with it, maybe benchmark rc5 on it and such, but it has a password lock on it. the person i got it from can't remember the password anyone know how to get by it? (and i have NO clue what program it is) or know of any web pages with mac OS hacks? thanx

Find a boot floppy, boot off of that and remove the extension that is password locking it. You can try booting with the Shift key held down, but that likely won't do it.

If the password prompt appears before botting up, the hard drive itself is password protected. You would need to either reformat the drive or get some other drive partitioning software to take over the drive to get rid of that kind of password.
