&#&@#&* mac disc drives!

SAWYER

Lifer
This is the third mac I have had this issue with

My mini's warranty just expired a couple weeks ago and now I can not even insert a disc. I tried the trick online where you shutdown, pull the power and other cords, wait 15 seconds and restart. Disc utility shows not disc in there, and if I try to insert a disk it does about half way and feels like something is in the middle on the drive

I will call, maybe they will give me a break since this is my 3rd min, I have two ipad 2's, had two ipad 1 and a mbp on file and several ipod touches

maybe you should have not sold your macbook pro today so you are stuck with out of warranty mac mini

wow i have used the burner on my macbook air like twice (to load the o/s) what a waste of $29 (overstock auctions).

Call the store and complain about customer service and how badly you were treated.

That's what I did and they replaced my water damaged smashed glass iphone 4 for free instead of the normal $250 for a refurb.

LOL that sure sounds like a warranty issue.

As Emulex said, USB DVD drives are pretty cheap but seldomly used. Unless this is your DVD set top box, is this really even a big deal?

Yes it's a big deal, it is a key component of my mac.  I am short on usb ports as it is and I bought the mini because I like the compact size, I don't want an external drive

So committing fraud is okay if you complain loudly enough?
