yeah no real time for games big dawg... I already have a box at home, toshiba laptop (good enough) and I'd like to the Mac to dink around with (internet, chat, write the occasional research papers, hw, etc)

you want to spend $1800 for something just "to dink around with?" looks like you're just looking for a reason to get a macbook pro.

I never understood why people recommend a thinkpad to someone who is considering a MacBook. Part of getting a MacBook is for the style. Thinkpads are the jeeps of laptops.
