M64 and Vanta

For some time now I have been confused as to the real difference between the TNT2 M64 and TNT2 Vanta chipsets. On top of that, certain cards are even marketed as "Nvidia TNT2 M64 Vanta" models, which only serves to confuse and aggrevate my end-user clients.

Will someone please enlighten me - it will be appreciated.

I recently did some research on this while looking for a cheap PCI video card to upgrade an old P200 system. I was also confused by the M64/Vanta differences. From what I could determine, the Vanta came first as a budget TNT card. The M64 came later, as basically the same card, but with some improvements, to beef up the performance of the Vanta.

Vanta seems to be something between TNT and TNT2,
TNT2M64 is TNT2 with 64bit memory bus.
TNT2M64 is sure better than Vanta, and the price says that.

I asked this question before. They are the same chip. The only difference is their core and memory speeds.

Vanta: NVCLK = 100, MCLK = 125
TNT2M64: NVCLK = 125, MCLK = 133

Hope that answers your question.
