Quick question.

I installed a Microsoft M500 wireless router on a Dell XPS computer. I also have a Dell 5150 laptop with a wireless card in it. The Windows XP auto detect on the laptop finds the router and the green wireless light comes on on the router, but there are no packets sending or recieving. I am not too sure what to do now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Both systems are running XP Pro. Its late so I dont know if this info here will be enough. Ask what ever else you think will be vital info to help me :) Thanks

Put the Wireless Computer near the Router to make sure that the Distance is covered.

B]Wireless basic Configuration:

MS Zero Configuration was not devised for Entry Level consumers Hardware, it has to be set Off.

Put the computer with the Wireless Client close to the Wireless Router,

Disable all software Firewalls (including Windows ICF).

Make sure that the drivers are set to infrastructure mode and obtain IP auto.*

Make sure that the Router does not have any MAC or IP filtering on.

Router's DHCP On. (Static IP will work too if set correctly).

Disable WEP on both devices.

Set the SSID and channel of the Router and the Client card to be is same name.[/b]
