M2N-SLI Deluxe Memory Advice, Please!

I plan on getting an Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard after the AMD price drops. But, I noticed that OCZ RAM doesn't seem to work on the M2N series of motherboards. And the box says that Corsair *should* be used for maximum performance.

Now, I plan to overclock my processor (and nothing else but it, except maybe RAM if needed) but I don't know which RAM to buy:

CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Dual Channel Kit System Memory - Retail

CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) System Memory - Retail

CORSAIR XMS2 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 675 (PC2 5400) Dual Channel Kit System Memory - Retail

I don't know a lot about overclocking (since I can't rely on my stupid 2.4GHz P4 Northwood core) but I'm always willing to learn. I just want to know which RAM I should buy if I'm going to OC my processor. I don't know what difference one or two sticks of the same amount of RAM will make on OCing performance.

Other suggestions are also welcomed! If they work, of course! :)

I'd be interested in any learned replies myself, as i'm seriously considering this MB & the use of Corsair RAM combo too. Thanks.

Uh, kinda off-topic but a lot of people here would say a P4 2.4GHz is a great candidate for overclocking!

Going by the reviews on Newegg, apparently Patriot's memory has to be sent back for reprogramming to be compatible with AM2. Was the same with G.Skill but apparently, memory manufactured post-June 2006 should work fine. Not too sure about OCZ and compatability: has been hit-and-miss.

Makes me wonder: what the hell is up with memory and motherboard compatability in the past few years? Aren't they all supposed to be following the same standard? Isn't this what makes/made the PC world great in the first place?

What makes the PC world great is the vast amount of technology. Anyways...

Yeah, I have heard that OCZ is like a hit and miss. I like'em better than Corsair. But this situation has left me looking at them.

bump-age. I'd like to know this as well.... though I'd be more interested in a 2GB dual channel, rather then small sticks ;)

I was looking at this board as well, and most of the reviewers on Newegg mention using Corsair memory. A few have said that the new BIOS fixes some problems, but again, it's hit or miss really. Thus far I've seen people working fine with Corsair, Muskin, and OCZ.

That's the same RAM I was looking at, except those are 4-4-4-12 and mine are 5-5-5-12. Do you think the latency would make any difference in compatibility. I'd think that if it did at all, it'd just be with really low latency and not higher.

I bought this board, and the OCZ GOLD Unbuffered DDR2 800 PC2 6400 Dual Channel RAM because it was "the thing to get", according to this tech I know lol. However, I come here and read the post's and find otherwise. The only way I could get this board to run stable was turn the voltage down on my RAM. Now I'm curious...do I need to buy the Corsair RAM instead?
Later I plan on building another setup, will find something the OCZ is compatible with, I hope. So my guess is to stay away from the OCZ for this board. Any one else? Looking to buy Stable RAM for this board.

Thank's

Do you have a link to the M2N32-SLI-Deluxe review that scared you away? I'm looking to possibly return the M2N-SLI-Deluxe and get the 32.
