I just loaded Vista-Ultimate (RTM) on my box and I got a Vista "Problems & Solutions Msg. stating that "IRQARB: ACPI Bios does not contain an IRQ for the devices in PCI slots 10 thru 15.
In the bios ACPI Suspend Type is set (default) to S1S3

ACPI APIC Support is set (default) to Enabled

I've noticed that Vista seems to have difficulty loading hardware related to IR devices (I don't have any nor do I understand). It wants to install drivers for "Serial Cable Using IrDA Protocol".

I've reran HW wizard to let it try to install and all seems to be fine but the errors then appear and it has at times required rerunning the Experience Index (not on all installs but on some installs it says there's HW that needs installing & when I run the HW wiz it installs the IR drivers for "Serial Cable Using IrDA Protocol".

I uninstalled the IR Devices and I no longer have any errors listed in the Event Review after rebooting.

Perhaps I should just leave them uninstalled. I would like to understand this issue tho.

In the Vista EventViewer there are 6 ACPI errors.

Bios ver is 305

Other than the error msg I don't seem to notice any problems.

Thanks for any comments on this. (how do i post image/)

Based on discussions on MS Technet Forum, looks like lots of others are having similar problem with ACPI. Seems to be related to drivers/bios updates that should get resolved soon after Vista release.;)

Update to my ACPI Issue:

1. Updated to latest BIOS however problem remains.

2. I had a response from ASUS and they suggested I update the driver for the ATK0110 Utility Driver. They have new drivers for Vista 32bit and 64 bit. However, after updating my driver, the errors remain.

3. I found the following on MS Support site:

Description:
IRQARB: ACPI BIOS does not contain an IRQ for the device in PCI slot number, function number. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance.

CAUSE

This error message may occur on a computer that uses a Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) bridge that supports message-signaled interrupts but does not support line-based interrupts.

RESOLUTION

This error message may safely be ignored.

Note Do not ignore this error message if the following conditions are true: ? A yellow explanation mark (!) appears next to the device in Device Manager.
? You receive the following error message in the Properties dialog box for the device in Device Manager:
This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

Hope to hear more from ASUS. Will post back if anything helpful turns up.
