Worked for a guy about 25 yrs ago that had one of those. His had the folding paratroopers stock.

Those are pretty badass because they also have the pistol grip. I think if the M2 had the pistol grip, controllability would be far improved, and it's kind of a shame they didn't add that as an improvement to the rifle, like they did with the M14.

The experimental M14, the T25, looks pretty badass too, I'm surprised Wiki got a picture of it, that's aweseome of whoever uploaded it

Full auto was deemed to be an enormous waste of ammunition according to post war army studies on combat during WWII.

The only reason it was included on the M14 was the military tried to replace a number of weapons with one, and it didn't work.

For piece of shit guns, I will take the M3.

Even larger mags cause people to fire less discriminantly. Full auto on rifles is a waste.

You'd be surprised. That's sort of the justification the M16s were installed with the three round burst instead of full auto because some sort of study proclaimed that anymore would be "inefficient." To some extent, playing a numbers game is what lost us in Vietnam--the bureaucratization of war as opposed to the appreciation of war as both an art and a science is a dangerous game.

When the Germans introduced the STG44 in WW2 it was a major game changer, automatic fire has a purpose, even in the hands of individual personnel.

if someone were to send me off to a war with the STG44 or a garand, as much as I respect the Garand, I'm taking the STG44.

the numbers game won ww2.
lefties undermining moral and actively pushing the enemies propaganda helped lose the war, not the numbers folks. the last viet cong offensive was a bluff, they were spent, but it convinced the antiwar folks, and thats all you really need to do to win a war...or in this case..lose one.
