I got a D1 stepping from Newegg about a month ago. I think the M0's are getting rare now. No retailer advertises selling the M0, and Intel themselves say they have no intentions of making more of them. I bought one for $152 of of ebay about a week ago, still waiting on it in the mail. So I'm hoping they are worth the hype.

I doubt you will have any luck getting an M0 from Newegg. You might try emailing some of these retailers and asking them if they have any M0's in their inventory, or ask about a possible special request?

I guess as long as my rig does 3.5GHz @ 250FSB 1:1 I'll be happy. The FedEx truck should be here within 3 hours, so I'll know soon enough. Most people don't have trouble hitting 3.5GHz with a 2.8C do they?

From the D1 2.8's I think 3.5 is max. My D1 runs pretty stable at 3.5, with the voltage turned up a bit. I have heard the M0's can do 3.5 on stock voltage, which means in theory with even more voltage that they can go even higher. I'm hoping that my M0 will do at least 260. I also want to benchmark my PC4000 RAM at ~520mhz 1:1.

I picked up the M0 2.8C from Newegg, but that was about 2 months ago. It does 3.5GHz at default voltage and would probably do a bit more. My P4P800 only goes to 2.85 VDIMM and it takes that much to get my Geil PC4000 perfectly stable at 250 FSB 1:1, or I would try for a bit more. :) Good luck finding one because they absolutely rock.

Well, it's here and it's a..........

Costa Rican SL6WJ.... yes.... bummer.

All I can do now is hope that it will hit 3.5 @ 1.7V vdimm 2.8

here goes!!

i have trouble hitting 3.5 with my 2.8c. not sure whether it's my mobo, ram, or just the cpu. i can boot into windows at 3.43 only and that was with 1.7v, i need m0 stepping. have a d1 sl6wt 2.8c.

REALLY? Your Geil won't go past 500mhz. I've heard that most PC4000 will go well past 250FSB. The people that run the 2.4C's, set the FSB at 280, and still run 1:1 with their PC4000. I hope my HyperX performs a little better than that when my M0 comes in from Switzerland :clock: .

I have an sl6wk 3.0c (30 caps) and I am currently @ 3.63 1.56 voltage, 243 fsb 5:4 since my Pc3200 won't go above 220 with tight timings. This is on stock retail cooling. Failed Prime95 @ 250fsb 5:4, but may raise voltage after my Zalman 7000 cu gets here.
Running it all on an Abit IC&-Max3. NICE stuff. Now if I can only get 3.7 :)

Hey jhurst, my Geil PC4000 would probably do a lot more but I'm limited to 2.85 VDIMM on my Asus P4P800 mobo. If I could raise the voltage a bit more, I'm sure it would give me a better overclock. :)

The current P4Cs might be good value but they won't hit speeds you've been seeing. A friend of mine has a 2.8C D1 stepping that can OC a whole ghz and still boot into windows. Not to mention do 3.6Ghz stable @ 1.55V.

Of course he purchased it around this time last year and the price was double then.

Intel's earlier P4Cs have more OC headroom than these newer ones. For a new 2.8C to hit 3.3 is pretty much all they can do @ default voltage. So if you purchased a 2.8C recently, there's absolutly nothing wrong, your CPU quite simply isn't capable of the speeds you've seen in the past.

The hot OC CPU right now is the 3.0C SL6WU
I have an sl6wk 3.0c (30 caps) and I am currently @ 3.63 1.56 voltage

Yeh I've got the 30 cap 3.0C as well: my SL6WU, manufacutred 1/20/2004. This one does 1.525V (default voltage) @ 3.66Ghz prime stable. It was from an older shipment which I tracked down @ work. The newer shipment that we got were all the castrated 15 or so caps and I know for a fact they don't do more than 3.45 ghz stable unless you overvolt it heaps (and even then it's still unstable). Tried a few for "testing" purposes ;)

Now if I bought a 3.0C say 9 months ago, that thing would OC like a champ and hit 3.8 on air and default voltage. Ah well, it woulda cost nearly double so it evens out.

i have trouble hitting 3.5 with my 2.8c.

Don't dissapointed with your 2.8C. I keep seeing people complaining about their CPUs not being able to hit speeds others can do. The newer your D1 stepping P4C, the less it will OC. It's nothing to be dissapointed about, considering the older P4C's were purchased at a higher price than what you recently paid for yours.

But I want 250FSB!! >

j/k.... yeah, I'll be happy with 240fSb. I'm just happy to have HT now. I'm just getting back into this overclocking madness world so I'm sure there will be an awesome OC'er in the near future. I love this stuff. =)

If you can run your 2.8 @ ~3.4 on stock voltage...I still think thats a pretty nice OC

Yeah, it's not stock voltage. I'm running 240FSB at 1.7volts with vdimm 2.8v 2.5-3-3-8

Just got a M0 stepping 2.8 today! So far it runs stable @ 257FSB (3.6ghz) @ 1.65 vcore (1.60-1.63 reported by MBM5). Very impressed with it so far. Gonna do some more tweaking see if I cant get to 260FSB w/o too much voltage. My HyperX is holding its own @ 515mhz also. I would need a 2.4C prolly to see how far they can go.

Actually I found it on Ebay from some guy in Switzerland. Got it for $152 plus shipping  Noone else bid on it b/c he used commas instead of periods (3,5 ghz) so i dont think anyone else really looked at it. I happened to do a search for SL6Z5 and this one item came up. My Ebay M0

I had looked everywhere b4.....and no retailers I asked had any (they all have D1's).
