m$ optical mouse.. what would cause it to lockup?

anyone know what would cause the mouse to lockup? running winxp and it always
worked fine for 2 yrs. all of the sudden its locking up 2-3x a day.

Is it this problem? Follow the links there. Ya alot of ms mouses go through this and they do have the mouse free replacement thing.

I had a dog hair in my optical and that 'caused it some craziness. Maybe it's got something in its eye.
