<< i guess its for the same audience that lindows is for....personally i dont see any "normal" users going to linux, the only people that seem to be using these types of distros are quasi-geeks who dont want to spend a bunch of time learning linux. i dont think either of them will do all that great considering they're just trying to copy something that they can't really copy all that well.
linux is different. i dont see much of a point in trying to copy something like windows especially considering it's not really all that great. >>
i suppose youre right. my personal belief is that an OS should be easy to use. an OS should be powerful too. i think theres a balance between the two. even i learned to use linux i never really liked it because of the learning curve. why would i want to type a whole lot of command line stuff when i could just point and click? i learned it but never liked it very much for that reason. i think Lindows and Lycoris Linux are heading the right direction with making a more powerful OS, more user friendly. although i dont know about copying the Windows UI... >>
i agree. windows has always gotten flack for its UI, the least they could do is copy the mac's gui
for example, the min/max/close buttons all next to each other, thats just begging for someone to accidentally hit the wrong button, and in fear of doing that, you have to be real careful when clicking one of those buttons. that seems like a small thing, but theres lots of windows things like that. personally i always hated the start button, and the taskbar, and lately i've even grown to dislike window buttons.
