Now that I'm back in the states some days I'm lucky just getting time to eat lunch at my desk.

I used to have a beer or 2 on lunch if I was at the awesome smoke/ale house or the plac eI like that does 5$ 1/2 lb bacon cheese burgers and a nice beer special on wednesdays

That's a bummer. It's nice to have the option to go out and have a couple every now and then. Every once in a blue moon our boss will take us out to a bar if we have a good month, and generally doesn't care what we do during lunch. Small place, though. I can understand the bigger companies having stricter policies.
