Lunatic greenies want to take away our beef!

The average person eats 21 meals a week. According to a new plan to combat climate change, 17 of those will be government-mandated as meat-free. Targets set by the plan would limit weekly consumption of beef would be limited to 1/4 pound. Chicken and ham would be similarly limited, with four modest servings of meat available throughout a week.

edit: I fixed the title for you sane greenies 😉

Cow is my favorite food. At least half of my meals are literally meat-only. If this happened here, I actually would move.

It won't though, so I'm not worried.

I agree, it's laughable and will never happen unless we have a serious economic crash and/or some plague wipes out 7/8 of our livestock. But it's still funny to think some guy out there actually thinks this is a good idea.

At first, I thought you were exaggerating. Then I read this.

The report's author, Tara Garnett, noted that voluntary campaigns were "doomed to fail" and strongly urged governments to mandate compliance through carbon trading and caps on greenhouse gas emissions. Ms. Garnett, who says "we cannot assume [the consumer] will necessarily make the right choice", advocates large-scale government intervention to ensure targets are met.

Right. I'd probably be considered a greenie, but these people are insane.

Yeah, these people aren't greenies; they're lunatics.

I probably eat red meat maybe once or twice a week as it is. Chicken maybe once a week...if that, and fish probably 2-3 times a week.

I would like to see them try considering my uncle supplies the family with beef.
He doesn't take kindly to strangers 🙂

Here's a picture of this crazy bitch, damn hippy needs to wash her hair.

I pretty much follow what they're preaching but I really don't care what anyone else does, it isn't any of my business.

So that makes you a sane greenie, I can live with that.

Im going to club 10 baby seals just because of these people. Oh yea, ill eat them too.

Interesting thing about that. It's one of the higher paying jobs in Norway (I visited there last summer). Unfortunately not too many people want to do it making the salaries even higher.

You can't own water, man, it's one of mother Earth's creatures. The best way to cleanse one's self is by gently rolling in the natural detritus of the forest floor.

You guys are angry about the wrong part of the plan... FTMFA...

Drastic reductions in consumption of alcohol, dairy products, and sweets were also part of the plan.

No more beer with dinner for you guys.

Nothing worse than the radical greenies. We do the majority of our shopping at Whole Foods and get harassed by those types in the parking lot when I open the back of my Sequoia to load the bags of stuff we bought. Amazing how they feel the need to get into my face and talk shit about my choice of vehicle. We can take one of the other cars there and nobody says a thing, but drive there in an SUV and you get treated like you are the scum of the Earth.
