I was able to see the moon last night despite the smoke, so I am hoping it is the same tonight.

Gonna go outside with lawnchair and a Strawberry Margarita!

? smoke from cigars? or what?

Smoke in Texas, I think, from fires in No. Mexico.

saw a little bit of it on the local news channel but it's still too cloudy to get a nice view.

Wow I expected at least a couple threads about this. Didn't anyone else watch it? Our HS physics teacher told us about it and a bunch of people got together at the park tonight to see it.

I'll post a couple pics from Minneapolis MN for those who couldn't see it. In about 15 min when I get home from work.

Watched it tonight, very nice :)

I took some pics with the S400. Too lazy to resize at the moment, pics are pretty big, but here you go:
eclipse1
eclipse2
eclipse3

Don't have much photography experience, so yeah the pics are not that great. Took 64 photos, only a few came out fine. Turns out that I had enabled long shutter :( Had some 0.8s and 1 second shots :( Came out blurrier than my eyes, heh.

i was able to watch to about 1/2 eclipse before the clouds made it impossible.
Nice sight while i could watch!

I checked again, while "total",the clouds were still too thick to see the moon,or any stars.. :(
