It's just a personal thing. I really just don't give a crap about Xbox. I have a gaming PC, PS3 and Wii (which I barely use). I hate Xbox more on the idea of how it's managed (especially the market) and also of the players as well (so many people to hate). But that's just me feeling this way. Outside of wanting to play Halo, I really don't care much about the other games on the 360.

But how all those things are integrated are really nice. I just hope to GOD there is going to be a Steam app for WP8 by the time I'm ready to upgrade.

Another thing is that I'm really not much for Bing. I'm really that attached to Google to be honest. Gmail, Youtube, Apps, etc.
In WP7 it's just a way to track achievements/group games together and xbox social stuff for those that like that stuff. It does feel at all like how the Xbox marketplace works and the current WP games don't really have multiplayer stuff in them yet.

Again, it's just basically a games hub with xbox achievements.

Oh, and that brings me to the absolute biggest flaw of Windows Phone 7, and I know I can't be the only one that has this problem because I've let friends use my phones and they've done it too: the damn dedicated (touch) search button.

Agree 100%. I hate that bloody search button. I guess the Lumia 710 doesn't have this problem since that uses a physical button - on my HTC 7 Mozart, it is super annoying.

I also don't like Bing, specifically Image Search, for one simple reason (I'm referring to the Search application, not the website): you can't zoom in! What kind of a Mickey Mouse design is that? The image is scaled down to fit your screen but you can't zoom in nor can you save it to your phone. That is just...poor design. Or maybe there is some patent against that. :whiste:

Ever since I've used Opera Mobile I can't go back to a device's proprietary browser. Have you guys tried that on WP7 yet?

This phone is interesting me, but I really haven't been following WP8 much. Do the majority of popular apps on Android exist for WP7/8? In general, I use things like MLBTV, DirecTV/Sunday Ticket, Google apps, Spotify, Amazon MP3 and so on. I tried searching on the marketplace, but not finding much, especially Google products.

There are quite a few apps that are popular on Android and iOS that aren't on WP7, or at least not yet. There are a number of unique apps for WP7 that I find useful, but if you are trying to switch from iOS/Android and are one of those people who is used to having certain apps, you may be disappointed with WP7. WP8 should get more apps especially if it gets greater market share (kind of a catch-22).

Yea, you're going to have a hard time finding Google stuff. As a pretty heavy GMail user that's a big blow. Especially with synced calendars and all, but if Windows 8 is any indication of what happens in Windows Phone 8, I can deal with it.

The more WP8 devices sell in Q4, the more developers start to take notice. It could be huge....? At this point it's all up in the air. I didn't realize how many Google apps I use as well, this could be a turn off for getting a WP8 device.. but that damn Nokia Lumia 920 is so damn sexy - And camera is supposed to be the bees knees. We will see....

If this was 4 years ago I'd be fine, but I've gone through switching from Hotmail 100% to Gmail 100%. It may seem like a trivial task to switch but I was burnt a couple times when clients that I consult for sent emails to my old account.

Where GMail is concerned, I'm not sure why there is a big issue. My WP7.5 Verizon HTC trophy is happy to sync my mail and calendar. I'd say I'm 95% satisfied with the way my phone is handling my mail. I only wish there was a mark as spam function from my phone. alas, there's not.

I'm not a heavy calendar user, but what I have used, it's been fine. I have 4 google shared calendars synched to my phone and it seems to work flawlessly.

Source? I don't dispute the res/PPI/refresh rate data, but I'm wondering where the data for reflectance and such comes from. Better yet, a general overview of outdoor performance of multiple mobile displays would be cool.

So for me, it's basically a worthless feature. I can though remove it from the main page entirely though correct?
Of course. You can unpin every single tile to make it a completely black screen if you wanted to.

WP doesn't rely on you to use Hotmail for email and calendar. I use gmail just fine on the phone.

The Lumia is supposed to have a fantastic screen.

I don't necessarily want one myself but I can admit that the screen is one of the best (if not the best) screen available.

Actually people who've already played with the Pure HD display have stated a couple reason why its inferior to Super LCD and LCD 2 and apples display. They've also stated a few reasons why its superior.

So apple can say whatever they want because its mostly subjective any way.

In this case it isn't comparing other display technologies, it merely points out that improvements have been made to enhance it and make it more useful.

As a consumer, I rather have more options than being limited by them. One choice doesn't fit all kind of thing comes to mind.

i really want this phone but some of the travel and work tools available for IOS and andriod are missing. no united or american airlines app, etc. people with window's os, do you know if more apps are coming or other work arounds?

You can pretty much guarantee that there will be more apps in the future, how widespread they get is going to depend on the market. My personal guess would be that "first party" apps like the ones you mentioned will probably be slow to show until WP gains more traction.

AFAIK AA and Delta have apps, as for whatever else you need have a look in the store for availability.
