I have one on order but I'm not completely sold on the size. They are great for office apps, just not certain I want to carry around something that big. Just curious about feedback from any 1520 owners.

My Note 2 is right on the edge of what I would comfortably want to carry daily. I'm sure "I'd get used to" the size of it, but that still doesn't help the fact that it would not really fit in a pants pocket and most of the cubbies/cupholders in my car. My Note2 is already pushing the boundaries there of what is practical.

By the looks of the pictures, the 1520 dwarfs the Note 2 in size.

Kind of why I'm hesitant also, work in the construction industry - this is a lot of phone to be hanging off of my belt when I'm up on scaffold. Could always transfer the sim to a smaller phone on those days I suppose.

One the other hand - this thing is great for reading PDF's (compared to my current 4" screen) - I need to reference codes and plans quite a bit.

I would be one if it were on T-Mobile (32GB version with Qi, not the crap AT&T version).

Coming from a Note 3 it was still an initial shock to see how large it was. Howerver, after using it for a week or so I'm used to it and enjoy the large screen.

Why in the world would you do this?

That's a major downgrade in hardware capabilities. No IR, 2GB RAM, Windows Phone OS...

Wow!

I only had 30 minutes with it but other than its physical beauty there wasn't much to commend it for. Getting locked up twice in that short time didn't help, either. Camera had trouble auto-focusing close objects (in auto mode) and there are a lot negative to be said about the whole OS which I'd not elaborate at the moment.

Yes I've got the RM-937 (international variant) of it and LOVE IT! Best phone I've ever owned or tried. Been through Note 1 & 3, Nexus 5, iPhone 5 and so far this is easily my favorite phone. The 6" screen doesn't feel much larger than the Note 3 but the screen is much better IMO (no weak AMOLED brightness). WP 8 is surprisingly good and has most of the apps I used with Android with the exception of some of the medical ones (e.g. Epocrates) which is a shame.

I have all of the apps that I need, now that Mint is available for WP 8. Check out Windows Phone Central (http://www.wpcentral.com/) - good source for everything windows phone related, new apps are coming pretty rapidly.

I haven't used an iPhone so can't comment on that OS, but prefer WP8 to android. Wish AT&T hadn't eliminated the wireless charging.

Suppose it is time to unbox the 1520 and give it a chance. Have a couple of weeks off work, should be plenty of time to decide if I want to keep it or not.

I prefer WP 8 to Android as well. I'm not a ROM flashing junkie so I won't miss Android's lag one bit. WP 8 feels as smooth or smoother than iOS to me so far and I'm loving the eye candy animations.

I find iOS 7 to be about as smooth (on good hardware, anyway). My beef: Windows Phone spends a lot of time in transitions, and you can't turn them off like you can in iOS. It's not unbearable, just less than efficient.

Wow!

If someone compiled a benchmark that would run on both platforms without showing bias towards one, I'm pretty sure the Lumia 1520 would run circles around the Note 3.
