Want it by Dec.24? View Vanns shipping details. Ships from and sold by Vanns.

Do you pay Amazon or do you pay Vanns?
Is Amazon like a proxy with your purchase or what?

Amazon does act as a proxy. You pay through them, and the merchant (Vanns) gets paid automatically, and they (Vanns) ship the item to you. You are buying from Vanns through Amazon. When buying from 3rd party vendors on Amazon and not from Amazon.com directly, you should look at the merchant's feedback. Click the "Vanns" hyperlink to see their feedback and additional information.

Amazon essentially becomes a drop shipper but tell you who they use the drop ship service from. Every sale is profit for Amazon except for the little overhead to handle your information.

In your example Amazon is acting as a third party store front. Vanns pays Amazon some fee to have their products listed on Amazon and in return Amazon offers the Amazon brand name and marketing as well as handling card payments and the like. The product itself though comes from Vanns. You pay Amazon and Amazon pays Vanns, it's shipped by Vanns.

Question could have been worded better!!

KK Thanks for the information, I always pondered this question and the other thread about them sucking made me think about it and finally ask it.

That or your posts are worse than worthless, and people would make them have negative stars if they could
