A couple months ago several vendors on Pricewatch had the Rad-7 at $500 plus shipping for a while.

Now there is a vendor offering it at that price again:

If you have been waiting to get a Rad-7, you might want to jump on this deal. Note the $50 shipping though. Muahahah.

The Rad-7 is an analog lcd, but seems to be highly recommended as one of the best lcd's for gaming and movies.

Hmm, looks like tricky shipping:

If you get the special "mention Pricewatch" price, then it is:

$498 ("mention pricewatch" price)
$49.50 (shipping as listed on their Pricewatch entry, ouch)
= ~$550

Meanwhile, if you just go to their online store, you get:

$540 (normal price at their online store)
$21 (shipping at their online store)
= ~$560

Just to let everyone know, i called and they would not sell me the monitor for 498 and 21 shipping. They said i would have to pay the $49. She wouldnt budge either. *sigh* guess i'll hold on to my money longer...

I just got Planar 17.4 black LCD from Dell for around $605 no tax and free shipping. I think it is a better deal since the Planar has DVI and a little bigger. The KDS is very good looking too, but I heard Planar performs better with games.

I really like my RAD 5, and if i upgrade to a bigger LCD monitor, i want one that is as thin *very important to me* and has a good refresh rate as well. I never get blurring or anything. (have played Quake1, 3, CounterStrike on it) Plus, the RAD series just looks really cool. Thanks for the info on the Planar, i will check it out. Is .4" really that much more??

I have a Planar 17.4 my best friend has a RAD5. They are both great monitors, and if the RAD7 is as good as the RAD5, I would not hestitate to buy it, even though it only has an analog connection. It would be a tough call between getting one RAD7 or two RAD5s for roughly the same price, though.
