The price for new is $144.99.
I know it's open box & it's a gamble, but.........
I'm about ready to order one...just a little scared...hehehe.

Linky

Any others have experience ordering open box motherboards from Newegg?

Yup, I got a Biostar Tforce 550 last week because it was only 49.99 shipped instead of 79.99 new + shipping...

Well, it worked alright for a few days then just completely died out of nowhere. Now I have to RMA it, suck up the $7.50 restocking fee since you can't return for replacement on open-box stuff; only refund. Plus I have to suck up the shipping cross-country which rang in at $15. So I'm pretty much spending as much as a new one in the long run.

Also, my MoBo was a Revision 1.0; since then they've had a Rev. 1.3 and now the they have the SE Rev. 5.0...

I've now ordered a new one from ewiz, for about 79.99 shipped...

Good luck to you if you're willing... I was too since I've bought some stuff open box that worked out fine, like a previous mobo, vidcard; but I think from now on I'll be sticking with new...

although i heard pp got good board from eggs open box,
but i have minimum luck bought 3 boards and 2 of them are broke.

I purchased 2 open-box MB's from NE a few years ago. They were "OEM"--without any accessory-- and had some operational flaws. If you are looking to build a second system and don't plan on stressing the board (as in overclocking), it's probably ok. It's a crap shoot. The same goes for open-box video cards.

If you receive defective items from Newegg, call their 1-800 number for RMA, Don't do it online. If you call them and explain the situation then they will waive the restocking fee and even email you a return UPS Shipping Label so you don't have to spend a thing. I did this last week on a new/retail gigabyte ds3 1.3 that wouldn't overclock at all (exactly what I told them).

This was the only motherboard I've ever had a problem with (out of the 7 or 8 boards I've bought online in the past couple years, the only defective 1 turned out to be a new/retail ds3 v1.3)

I've bought 2 open box/oem boards from newegg in the past year (asus a8n-sli deluxe & a gigabyte ds3 v1.0), and both came in retail box w/ all accessories and worked perfectly (I overclocked and overvolted pretty well on them), had them each for about 6 months, and never had a problem.

I'm pretty sure newegg will waive the restock on defective open box stuff...at the very least they'd let you use it towards anything on their site (credit) without docking anything.

The only open box stuff I've ordered didn't work out so well but others seem to have had better luck lol

Of the 7 or 8 boards you bought, how many were open box?

4, Abit KN8 or K8N?, DFI Ultra-D, Asus A8N-Sli Deluxe, & a Gigabyte DS3 v1.0

Some open box deal are good, this one is not.

its $86.00 and is missing about $50.00 in acessories, and is a old chipset.

you can get new 650i sli board for around $110.00 or less.

there are good deals, but this is not one of them.

I got a 2 asrock 775-VSTA Conroe boards for $27.00 each shipped 4 months ago, and both were full retial box and I swear were New never used, even thought they both said open bow.

I have purchased video card for $100.00 or more off, that worked perfectly.

I have had as many problems with new stuff as open box or refurb/recert stuff from newegg, purchased a brand new motherboard last month that lasted 2 days.

it needs to be about %50 off or more for me to buy A refurb/open box.

and just because the retial price is $144.00 does not means it is worth $144.00, especially when you can get better newer motherboard for way less.
