Decent Kingston 2GB DDR2-750 kit from ZipZoomFly w/ free shipping. Timings are 4-4-4-12 and SPD settings include DDR2-667 timings at 1.8V.

Link is here.

A review at HotHardware is here - you'll see why it's not a wonderful deal. It has trouble hitting very low latencies at low speeds. But it's competitive with low-latency DDR2-667 when overclocked, and priced lower than most low-latency 2GB DDR2-667 kits.

This price is stable - I don't recall seeing the price of this memory move much through the recent price spikes. For right now, I'd rate the G. Skill DDR2-667 2GB kit at Newegg (link) to be equal, but the savings on the G. Skill kit can go away, while the price on the Kingston kit will stay the same. If there are no hot deals available on the day you want to buy and you aren't willing to wait, then this is a good kit to remember.

I've got a DS3 and the kit on order - ETA 10/09. I'll let you know.

(I should mention that the SPD data for the memory kit includes lax DDR2-533 settings @ 1.8V. I'm told that many high-end memory sticks don't include any SPD data except for the highest rated speed and timings, and that this is supposedly one cause of memory incompatibility. My hope is that these sticks will be more compatible with motherboards. But I've been wrong before. If someone can confirm this, please do.)

I just bought this memory just to buy time and ride the coming 6-8 months until the memory gets cheaper.

It appears to be running at 533 though. I am yet to do any kind of setting or tweaking on the motherboard.

Do you have an Intel board or an AMD board? If you have an Intel, I'm certain that it's acting as it should. If you have an AMD - and a processor that should be using the memory at DDR2-667 speeds - we have a problem.

My system (Gigabyte DS3, Kingston DDR2-750) posts fine at 667mhz / 4-4-4-12 timings. I haven't run any stress tests, and I'm not likely to for a while.

I can't move this up above 'lukewarm' until I find out if this memory can bust past 433mhz, and I'm not likely to do that, as I'm running stock cooling. Up until then, remember this deal as a decent fallback position.

(FYI : this memory defaults to DDR2-400 on my DS3. Be prepared to tweak the settings to reach Core 2 stock settings.)
